Cirrus

Terms of Use

Last updated 30 August 2026

These are the terms for using Cirrus. Using the app means you accept them.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or over. Cirrus is about reducing and stopping nicotine use; it is not appropriate for minors, and the app will not let you continue setup if you tell us you are under 18.

What Cirrus is, and is not

Cirrus is a self-help tool: it tracks what you log, calculates a tapering plan from it, and gives you a coach to talk to. It is not medical treatment, and it does not replace a doctor, a pharmacist, or a quitline. Ember, the in-app coach, is a language model. It will not give you medical advice, dosing guidance, or a diagnosis, and you should not treat anything it says as any of those.

If you are in crisis, please contact your local emergency services. In the US and Canada you can call or text 988 at any time.

Your account

Keep your login details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access to it.

The community

The feed is anonymous but it is not unmoderated. When you post you agree not to:

Posts are screened automatically before they appear and reviewed by a person when flagged. We aim to review reported content within 24 hours. We can remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules. You can report or block from any post.

You keep ownership of what you write. You give us permission to display it in the app and to keep it visible in a thread if you later delete your account, detached from you and re-attributed anonymously, so that a conversation other people are part of stays readable.

Subscriptions

Cirrus has a free tier that keeps working indefinitely. Some features are part of a paid subscription.

Where subscriptions are available, they are billed through the app store you installed from, on the plan and price shown before you confirm. They renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Manage or cancel in your store account settings — not here; we cannot cancel a store subscription for you. If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you subscribe. Refunds are handled by the store under its own policy.

Availability

We do our best to keep Cirrus working, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. Features may change. We may need to suspend the service for maintenance.

Limits

Cirrus is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Ending it

You can stop using Cirrus and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken.

Changes

If we change these terms materially we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
